The Clearwater Marching Band is the combined forces of the Symphonic Winds, Percussion Ensemble, Color Guard and Majorettes. The Marching Band is a musical marching unit organized to provide entertainment for: football games, pep rallies, band festivals, parades, and concerts. It is an integral part of the instrumental music education at Clearwater High School. Membership requires total dedication, maximum effort, and involvement in all aspects of marching, playing and performance.
The Clearwater Symphonic Winds is open to students with previous instruction in wind and percussion instruments. It consists of modern wind band instrumentation and provides instruction in common-practice period and twentieth century wind literature and transcriptions. The Symphonic Winds puts on several concerts per year and is proud to have earned a combination of excellent and superior ratings at all District MPA’s over the past several years. The band has performed in Gatlinburg TN, Orlando FL, and Washington D.C.
The Clearwater Jazz Ensembles are open to students with previous instruction in wind and percussion instruments. They incorporate a variety of jazz era styles including swing, rock, samba and more. These Jazz Ensembles put on several concerts per year and are proud to have earned a combination of excellent and superior ratings at District MPA’s for the several years.
The Clearwater Percussion Ensemble involves all students who are enrolled in our percussion class. It incorporates a variety of musical genres including classical, swing, and modern. The Percussion Ensemble puts on several concerts per year and is proud to have earned a combination of excellent and superior ratings at District MPA’s for the several years.
The Clearwater Color Guard practices the art of tying quality music and marching together to form a stimulating visual presentation. Through consistent and positive instruction, it is the goal of the staff to provide our students and audiences with both a competitive, yet equally entertaining marching band show. We want to teach students who want to learn. Instructors, students and parents work together as a team to form the Clearwater High School Band.
